Why Mejec

  • Environmental compliance icon
    Environmental Protection and Compliance
Every system is engineered to the discharge standard that applies at your site, with disinfection built into the treatment train rather than bolted on afterwards.
  • Contaminant removal icon
    Efficient Contaminant Removal
Mature biological processes strip organics, suspended solids and ammonia nitrogen from the stream, and hold that performance when load and water quality fluctuate.
  • Low operating cost icon
    Operational Cost-Effectiveness
Factory prefabrication removes most of the civil works, and optimised processes keep both energy draw and sludge disposal down across the life of the plant.
  • Scalable modular capacity icon
    Adaptability and Scalability
Choose the process to suit your influent, then add modules in parallel as demand grows — capacity expands without rebuilding what is already running.
  • Water recovery and reuse icon
    Resource Recovery and Reuse
Treated effluent is clean enough to put back to work for irrigation, flushing and landscape water, instead of being discharged and paid for twice.
  • Automated control and remote monitoring icon
    Automation and Low Maintenance
PLC control with remote monitoring, fault alarms and unattended operation, so a site stays compliant without a dedicated operator on the payroll.

Where It Fits in a Healthcare Estate

  • Clinic and medical centre compact wastewater treatment installation
    Clinics & Day Centres
Modest volumes, limited plant room space, and no dedicated operations team on site.
  • Medical laboratory effluent pretreatment system
    Pathology Labs
Reagents, disinfectants and heavy metals that will poison a domestic biological process.
  • Nursing and care facility sewage treatment plant installation
    Nursing & Long-Term Care
Continuous domestic sewage with hygiene requirements above ordinary residential standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the system deal with pathogens in hospital wastewater?

Containerised units disinfect with ultraviolet light rather than chlorine dosing alone. UV penetrates strongly and kills 99.9% of bacteria, holding faecal coliform below 50 CFU/100 mL in the treated effluent. The MBR membrane stage in front of it physically retains suspended solids down to 5 mg/L, so the UV works on already-clarified water.

Can laboratory effluent be treated with the rest of the hospital's sewage?

No. Reagents, disinfectants and heavy metals from pathology and research labs will damage the biology of a domestic treatment train. Route that stream to a containerised IWTP instead, which uses pH adjustment, coagulation, lamella clarification, sand filtration and ion exchange to bring chromium to 0.5 mg/L, nickel to 0.1, copper to 0.3 and lead to 0.2 mg/L.

What effluent quality can we expect?

Containerised MBR and MBBR units are designed for BOD₅ 10 mg/L, ammonia-nitrogen 5 mg/L, suspended solids 5 mg/L and faecal coliform 50 CFU/100 mL. The container itself is built from carbon and stainless steel and is acid and corrosion resistant, which matters with disinfectant-heavy medical effluent.

How much operator attention does the plant need?

It is designed for unattended operation. The PLC control cabinet supports manual, automatic and remote modes, provides overload, short-circuit and phase-loss protection, records power consumption and inflow and outflow, and can dose chemicals automatically based on pH. Alarms are pushed by SMS or WeChat, and scanning the QR code on the cabinet pulls up the maintenance history.

Can capacity be expanded if the hospital grows?

Yes. Containerised units are 50 to 600 m³/d each and can be combined up to 10,000 m³/d, so capacity is added by installing another module in parallel rather than rebuilding the plant. The MABR variant is designed specifically for linear expansion through parallel container units.
