Can an office building really treat its own sewage on site?

Yes, and for estates without a municipal connection it is often the only route. A 20 m³/d buried Johkasou SB is a Φ2.2 × 5.3 m cylinder installed below the car park or landscaping; a business campus would typically use containerised MBR units at 50 to 600 m³/d each, combinable up to 10,000 m³/d.

How much staff time does it take to run?

It is designed to need none. The PLC control cabinet supports manual, automatic and remote modes, protects against overload, short circuit and phase loss, automatically identifies inflow and switches the blower to an energy-saving mode, doses chemicals based on pH, and pushes alarms by SMS or WeChat. Maintenance history is stored behind a QR code on the cabinet.

What can we claim in an ESG or sustainability report?

Concrete figures rather than intentions. Buried Johkasou units consume 0.72 to 1.74 kWh per cubic metre treated. The MABR range cuts aeration energy by 70 to 75% against conventional blower aeration. Treated effluent at BOD₅ 10 mg/L and suspended solids 5 mg/L can be reused for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing rather than discharged.

Will it disturb the working environment?

Buried units sit in a sealed underground environment that isolates noise and odour, so they can be installed directly under courtyards and parking. Containerised units are enclosed and minimise odour escape; the MABR variant is quieter still because it supplies oxygen through a membrane rather than blowing air through the tank.

Our plant room is below the sewer line — what then?

Use the LD-BZ integrated prefabricated pumping station. Pipework, pumps, control gear, screen system and maintenance platform are integrated into a single buried barrel from Ø1.2 to 6.5 m, covering 480 to 18,960 m³/d at flows of 20 to 790 m³/h.
